XERAPHIM is the solo project of a lifelong DIY musician shaped by years of obsession with sound, songwriting, and self-production. From early exposure to Christian pop punk and post-hardcore via his youth pastor's CD collection to playing drums in church youth bands, spirituality and music have always been inextricably linked. After a tumultuous period of losing his faith and extracting himself from the evangelical movement he was raised in, XERAPHIM found himself depressed and purposeless. The natural next step was to pick up the guitar and immerse himself in Austin's emo and skramz scene, eventually forming bands, playing house shows, and learning the art of DIY recording and production on a shoestring budget.

When the pandemic hit, live music paused and XERAPHIM turned fully inward, learning synthesis, sound design, mixing, and mastering through sheer repetition and an engineer’s attention to detail. He eventually unlocked a personal sound blending analog synth textures, drum machines, emotional lyricism, Ian Curtis-like baritone vocals, and intricate guitar work informed by the mathy riffs of his previous skramz projects.

Now fully independent and self-contained, XERAPHIM crafts darkwave, post-punk, and goth music that’s atmospheric and emotionally charged, with lyrical themes veering from religious trauma and self destructive tendencies to occult mysticism and high fantasy.
